Assistive technology (AT) is any item, piece of equipment, software program, or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of persons with disabilities.
OATECA staff are RESNA certified Assistive Technology Professionals.
Does your IEP Team need to address Assistive Technology (AT) for a student in more detail than the school district has the training to accomplish? Selecting and implementing AT requires more than a simple assessment to ensure a “match” between the student’s abilities and the features of a device. The chosen AT must be useful in the student’s environment to perform needed tasks. OATECA can assist IEP teams in addressing the AT needs through on-site evaluations.
